Chart predictions from our Woolworths spy!

Posted on

We’ve got some very interesting information from someone that works at Woolworths. First of all, any singles bought from anywhere other than Woolworths, HMV, Ourprice and Virgin don’t count towards the official UK chart.

The single formats for After The Love Has Gone” will be:

CD (only one CD format) £3.99:
1. After The Love Has Gone (Radio Version)
2. After The Love Has Gone (WIP Remix)
3. My Best Friend’s Girl

The tape is £2.29.

Well it is unlikely it will get to number one with only one CD against such strong competition. And this is indicated in the Woolworths’ predicted charts below. It also looks like there is no interactive part to the CD although we can’t count it out.

1. Ann Lee – 2 Times (CD £3.99, Tape £2.29)
2. Christina Agueilira (CD £2.99)
3. Eiffel 65 – Blue (CD £3.99, Tape £2.29)
4. NEW Steps – After The Love Has Gone (CD £3.99, Tape £2.29)
5. NEW ATB – Don’t Stop (CD £1.99, Tape 99p)

But don’t give up hope as Woolworths have been known to get it wrong (a lot!) and if single sales are strong enough Steps will hit that top spot no problems. We will be keeping you up to date with the chart sales daily throughout the week leading up to the official UK charts on Sunday so stay tuned. Thanks to our Woolworths insider for all this info.

Don’t forget that Planet Pop today on Channel 4 from 10.40am is a Steps special. Then if that isn’t enough of your fave group you can catch the repeat of the excellent Steps program Andi Meets Steps at 1.15pm also on Channel 4. Yet another hectic Steps day for everyone to enjoy!
