Finally everyone’s favourite group is getting the recognition it so rightly deserves. Steps won two awards yesterday at the TV Hits ceremony held at the London arena. They also performed three songs: Love’s Got A Hold On My Heart, the excellent new single After The Love Has Gone and of course Tragedy. On top of all this Lisa and Faye presented an award, as well as Claire and H for a different award. The night belonged to Steps with the crowd all cheering louder for them than anyone else at the awards.

The good news for those of you that didn’t make it just gets better though. As the ceremony will be shown on Channel 5 in two separate parts on 30 and 31 October. Thanks to Noubar for all this information.

That weekend is obviously destined to be another Steps-mad two days as the special Halloween concert that will be shown on Sky Box Office is on 31 October.

The awards Steps walked away with yesterday were:

• Best video/song of the year for “Love’s Got A Hold On My Heart”
• Best live band.

Steps will be appearing again at this years Smash Hits Poll Winners’ Party.

Steps previously appeared in 1997 performing 5,6,7,8 and last year ended the show with Tragedy. The ceremony takes place on Sunday 5 December at the London Arena, and is also live on BBC One from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. It is expected to be the biggest yet, with performances from many artists including Steps, Westlife and Britney Spears! The event will introduce four new awards this year – best parent in pop, funniest person in pop, (H must be in line for this one!), best dance tune and best dancer in pop. It is also welcoming back the indie/rock category and best dance/soul act award.

As you know, H and Faye presented MTV Select in the UK and Ireland today. Once again H was playing about as usual. Highlights included H’s bum wiggle to the new Ricky Martin tune “Shake Your Bon Bon” – perhaps H got the title wrong or something? Also when dancing with Faye, H seemed to accidentally grab one of Faye’s breasts!! All this as well as a cushion fight and other mad chaotic happenings in the Select studio!
