According to Dotmusic, Steps are due to win a special award at this year’s BRITS ceremony.

“Steps are expected to receive a special award at the Brits on Friday, in recognition of their domestic sales in 1999. The band, who were caught-up in the Best Newcomer controversy last year, are not actually scheduled to perform at the event, but will appear to receive their award. Brits committee chairman Paul Conroy has also called on the UK music industry to make the evening a night to remember, despite the numerous problems currently blighting the business. He said: ‘We should for one evening put some of our troubles behind us’.”
