Because of the huge demand for Steps in Canada, their album Step One is being released 13 April 1999 and Steps are due to visit Canada in July. There is no news if the album contains Tragedy. There is still no news on a forthcoming US release date despite the One For Sorrow video being played in selected US Music Stores. Good news, Step One has now gone four times platinum in the UK. That is sales of more than 2.4 million! The ABBA tribute has gone sliver (200,000), Better Best Forgotten is gold (400,000) and Heartbeat/Tragedy is platinum (600,000).

Planet Pop (Channel 4, 13 April, 10.20am) is having a Steps special with interviews and performances from their UK tour which has just finished. Remember to watch!
