Lee confirmed for Soccer Six
Thanks to Sam who has e-mailed us to say that Lisa talks about her engagement in the latest edition of Smash Hits, which I believe was released today! So go grab your copy now!
Also thanks to Gary who has told us that he has heard that the new Steps single could contain around seven tracks. We know under UK rules that only three tracks are allowed if the tracks are different, and four tracks if they are all remixes of the same song. This could indicate a two CD release. We’ll keep an eye open on any further developments.
News on the Soccer Six has now been announced by Dotmusic:
Members of Blur, Steps and Massive Attack are taking part in the 7th annual Soccer Six football match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea on Monday May 28th.
The music industry sponsored game will raise money and awareness for Capital Radio’s ‘Help A London Child’ Charity. Tickets are on sale now and cost £15.
Soccer Six has attracted a vast array of TV personalities and pop stars alike since it was launched in 1975, and since then over £10 million has been raised for the good cause.
Previous contenders have included the musical talent Jarvis Cocker, Goldie, Liam Gallagher, James, Bush, Jamiroquai and also celebrities such as Keith Allen and Lennox Lewis.
This year the following stars have so far confirmed that they are taking part: Lee from Steps, Damon Albarn, Dane Bowers, Toploader, Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, Damage, Mick Hucknall, Paul Hardcastle, Cat Deeley, Ant & Dec, Jamie Theakston and actor Ralf Little of ‘Royle Family’ fame.
The UK charts aren’t a good place at this moment for Steps! Buzz fell outside the Top 100 this week on the albums chart. But in better news Steptacular re-entered the UK Indie Chart at number 41, with Buzz moving up to 42. The Live Wembley Video also moved back up to number six on the Music Videos chart!
We know that we reported about Buzz being released in the US on 21 August 2001. Well US fans you might be lucky as we’ve had news that the release date could be brought forward to 24 July 2001. We’ll keep an eye out for any developments on this. We’ve had lots of gossip bits sent into us about the US release but we’ve not had confirmation that those news stories are true, which is why we’ve not printed it.
Thanks to Jurriën again who has pointed out that Buzz is still doing great in Belgium! After moving way up the charts last week to number 13, this week it continues to climb and moves up to number 11! Hopefully they will break into the top 10 next week! We’ll keep you updated with movements there!
Also there is a snippet of news in the latest Heat magazine where Faye says she is going to have a long honeymoon once she gets married!
