Steps went out at the very top with the phenomenal success of their ‘Gold – Greatest Hits’ album and tour, and now H & Claire will be bringing a smile back to the faces of their fans everywhere with the release of the super-infectious new single ‘DJ’ which is released on 6 May on WEA.

Whilst H & Claire have always been great friends, they become even closer following the end of Steps. Having spent a lot of time together over Christmas and the New Year, they decided that carrying on the Steps tradition of great pop songs as a duo was what they wanted to do!

Hitting the studio in February, they soon chose the fantastic ‘DJ’ as their first single. Written by Graham Stack and Paul Rein (who have penned loads of fab hits for people like Kylie and Christina Aguilera), ‘DJ’ is full of the insanely catchy-choruses that made Steps so famous, complete with H’s inimitable personality and Claire’s soaring vocals.

The success of Steps was so staggering that the only British band to have had more Top 10 singles is The Beatles! Having sold over 7 million singles and 5 million albums, the Steps live show managed to break all records in 2000 as they performed to over 700,000 people across 65 live shows! Steps success was marked with a special Brit Award in 2000 for Best Selling British Live Act.

H & Claire have also proved to be hugely popular TV personalities, demonstrated by the success of their hit CBBC show ‘Steps To The Stars.’ The show, of which there have already been two series, was the most successful in its slot across the network, averaging 3 million viewers a week! As well as this, the twosome have guested and/or presented on a variety of shows including SM:TV, Show Time At The Stadium and Never Mind The Buzzcocks!

So no more ‘Tragedy’ for Steps fans, ‘cos H & Claire are back, stomping their way to the top!
