We’re now in the usual quiet zone between the releases of the singles and the album, and with it being a greatest hits album it might be quieter than usual as the group can’t really talk about all their new songs as there is only three on the album that haven’t already been played on the radio!
According to various reports Steps are set to remain inside the Top 5 this weekend but have been pushed back to number three with DJ Otzi now back up to number two with sales so far of just over 13,000 copies.

Steps are to sign copies of their new book Gold at a branch of Woolworth’s in London. Lee, Claire, Lisa, H and Faye will visit the Edgware Road branch on October 3. A greatest hits CD of the same name is released on October 15. Gold is the first book written by Steps.

In the book, the band members look back over their singles, the videos that have gone with them and the best moments from their live shows. Steps say Gold is only the “end of the first chapter” in their career and have rubbished recent rumours the greatest hits CD signals their demise.
