Big Virus Around
In the new UK charts announced today, Here & Now / You’ll Be Sorry drops down to number 60 on the singles charts. The album has dropped outside the Top 100 and the Live Wembley video drops down to 37. It seems that everything is falling into place for Jive here as it gives them a clean slate now to get the new material out in September/October. Talking about new Material, the scheduled Steps gig at the G-A-Y club in London for 8th September has been moved back to the 13th October. Does this mean we expect the single now out in October and the album to be with us early November? Also it could mean that it is a performance before the album release on the 15th October ….. I’ve had a lot of e-mails recently containing a virus. I had around 20 of these yesterday and I’ve already had 10 today and it’s already appeared countless times in my e-mail box over the past week! Luckily I have a good virus checker which has found them and deleted them so stopping my system getting infected. I’ve also had e-mails from visitors telling me about this virus. Therefore I am getting something up on the site. This is from the McAfee Online Virus Centre: McAfee.com has seen a large and growing number of consumer computers infected with W32/SirCam@MM. This is a HIGH RISK VIRUS FOR CONSUMERS. The infected email can come from addresses that you recognize. Attached is a file with two different extensions. The file name itself varies. The email message can appear as follows: Subject: [filename (random)] Body: [content varies] —ENGLISH VERSION— Hi! How are you? I send you this file in order to have your advice or I hope you can help me with this file that I send or I hope you like the file that I send you or This is the file with the information that you ask for See you later. The virus searches for .GIF, .JPG, .JPEG, .MPEG, .MOV, .MPG, .PDF, .PNG, .PS, and .ZIP files in the MY DOCUMENTS folder and attempts to send copies of these documents to email recipients found in the Windows Address Book and addresses found in cached files. What is the best way to stop this. Buy a virus checker, there are many on the market. Popular ones are McAfee & Norton Anti-Virus if you do have a virus checker make sure it has the latest virus information. If you think you’ve been affected there is a removal tool available from http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected] and follow the instructions there.
