It’s another new year for Steps, and for this website. Since opening my first Steps website back in November 1998 we finally hit the year 2000! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves! GenSTEPS has now been open since 1 August 1999, which is five months – and we’ve had over 180,000 hits in that time, so thank you very much for your support!

What does 2000 have in store for Steps? Well 13 March sees the release of the fifth single from Steptacular, which is Deeper Shade Of Blue. It is destined for the top of the charts in my opinion. But what about further in the year? May sees the start of the Steptacular Arena Tour and with the huge success of Steptacular we should see a third album out towards the end of this year, with a new single out in the summer (I say this as a sixth single from Steptacular might be pushing it a little!)

Steps also take on the mighty US this year with the release of Tragedy as the single to help push sales of their debut US album Step One. The Disney concert in the US should also help Steps in the US (as would supporting the Backstreet Boys on their US spring tour, but I don’t think that is going to happen).

In more news, we have the complete Steps chart positions from the Belgium top 2000 videos, thanks to Katrin for sending them all in! 5678 is at #236, Better Best Forgotten is at #267, Last Thing On My Mind is at #348, One For Sorrow is at #487, Heartbeat is at #662, Love’s Got A Hold On My Heart is at #1001, Tragedy is at #1541 and After The Love Has Gone is at #1924!
