The Brit Awards will take on a Swedish flavour when Abba founders Björn Ulväeus and Benny Andersson are serenaded by leading UK pop acts at the ceremony on 16 February. Billie Piper, B*Witched, Cleopatra, Steps, and Tina Cousins will form a one-off super group to perform an Abba medley (“Take A Chance On Me,” “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” and “Thank You For The Music”), produced by Pete Waterman.

Lucian Grainge, managing director of Polydor UK, says: “It’s Abba’s 25th anniversary, and their Mamma Mia musical is opening in London’s West End. Benny and Björn agreed to present an award, and the concept was quickly embraced at a Brits committee meeting.” Sony will issue a commercial single of the Abba tribute on 29 March, benefiting the Brit School for performing arts.
