This is from BBC News:Pop group Steps are to make a video appeal in the hope of helping police find missing schoolgirl Danielle Jones. The 15-year-old from East Tilbury, Essex, is a big fan of the band and it is hoped she or someone who knows where she is may respond to the message. There has been no sign of the teenager for 11 days after she disappeared on her way to catch a school bus on Monday 18 June. Essex Police are appealing for members of the public to help them make a large-scale search of local marshland at the weekend. Steps, who also made an appeal for eight-year-old Sarah Payne after her disappearance last year, will film their message in London on Friday afternoon. Assistant Chief Constable John Broughton said: “We are very grateful to Steps for their support and we hope that their appeal will bring a response from Danielle or someone who knows of her whereabouts.” Detectives are desperate for new leads in the hunt for Danielle, and say they are “very gravely concerned” for her safety. Same story, this time from Dotmusic: Steps and Michael Jackson are using their fame to help locate missing children. The UK five-piece – Claire, Lisa, Lee, Faye and H – will be making an appeal to help police find missing 15-year-old Danielle Jones from East Tilbury in Essex. The schoolgirl is a big fan of the band and it’s hoped that the campaign will help jog the memory of someone who might have seen her, reports ananova.com. She has been missing for 11 days. Steps also made an appeal for missing eight-year-old Sarah Payne when she disappeared last year. John Broughton, Assistant Chief Constable John Broughton, commented: “We are very grateful to Steps for their support and we hope that their appeal will bring a response from Danielle or someone who knows of her whereabouts.” Meanwhile on the other side of the pond, the King of Pop has lent his assistance to find Sabrina Aisenberg who went missing from her cot four years ago when she was only five-months-old. Her parents asked for help and it’s thought that Jackson’s forthcoming album will include a song dedicated to missing children and that the inside cover will feature a picture of Sabrina. The Centre for Missing and Exploited Children has said that they put the star’s lawyers in touch with the Aisenberg’s after he selected Sabrina for the record. Police has followed hundreds of leads in an attempt to trace the little girl but to no avail. Just to show how serious this all is here’s Worldpop’s news: Steps have filmed a special message this afternoon in an appeal to help police find missing schoolgirl Danielle Jones. 15-year-old Danielle from Essex is a big fan of the band and it’s hoped that she or someone who knows where she is, may respond to the group’s message.
