Say You’ll Be Mine charts at #7
OK, so Steps get a UK #7 in the 1999 Christmas chart – but Say You’ll Be Mine / Better The Devil You Know has received a silver certification whereas Westlife (who went number one) don’t have anything. So why is this? Firstly it could just been an error at Dotmusic, but I believe it could be down to presales. To my knowledge, presales do not count as sales for that week, but do count overall as sales for that single. This is why Steps have sold over 200,000 copies, but many were pre-sales so only a number seven entry on the chart. If you know any more please get in contact with me.
