“With two sold-out concerts this weekend in London and Manchester, you’d think Steps would be spending every spare moment with their feet up, but not energetic H and Faye. As previously reported on WorldPop, H will be up bright and early Saturday morning to unveil London’s new Millennium Bridge at 8.35am, which will be followed by a 10 mile charity walk in aid of Save The Children. After the final show on the first leg of their 30-date worldpop-sponsored tour this Sunday, Faye is preparing to fly to New York to write material for Steps’ third album with long-time hero Cyndi Lauper. Faye will spend a week with the American singer, best known for her worldwide hits Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Time After Time. An excited Faye told worldpop she suggested Cyndi Lauper as a songwriting partner as a joke and couldn’t believe her luck went word came back that Cindy was keen. ‘I’m unsure of what we’ll come up with but one thing’s for sure, it’ll be fun.’ For once Faye won’t be accompanied by the rest of Steps, who are also busy songwriting for the album, due out later this year, with accomplished artists like Gary Barlow and Peter Conan from Dreaming. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the Steps 2000 mini site on WorldPop, including H’s brand new tour diary plus exclusive video footage with classy Steps support act, Boom.”
