Claire spills Steps secrets in new book

The Sun is publishing extracts from Claire’s book, All Of Me. Here’s the latest:

Steps star Claire Richards has admitted to romping on trains, in car parks
– and even backstage at Top Of The Pops.

The singer also got a thrill out of having sex in a tiny car in a busy
street with future hubby Reece Hill.

In her sensational new autobiography – serialised exclusively in The Sun –
Claire tells of her insatiable appetite for sex and admits cheating on her
first husband with singer Dane Bowers.

Here, in our second extract from All Of Me, she recalls those steamy days.

“REECE and I would have sex anywhere and everywhere. We were at it like you
wouldn’t believe and when I look back now you’d never think we were the same
couple!

“We did it on a train once on our way to a TV show, in dressing rooms at gigs
and TV shows — including Top Of The Pops, and in the car park of Hillingdon
Tube Station — anywhere we could.

“Reece had a tiny MG sports car at the time and we even managed to do it in
that — afterwards I was covered in bruises from head to toe!

“We used to park the car in the next road to where my mum and dad lived, just
in front of a hedge so there was no house overlooking us.

“But there was a house right behind us with a big security light that would be
on the whole time. I’ll never know how we didn’t get busted.”

Claire was just 20 when she started dating Reece, who was Steps’ publicity
manager at the time. He was not only ten years her senior but also in a
long-term relationship.

The singer, now 34, lost her virginity to him despite knowing his girlfriend,
Bonnie, was pregnant at the time.

She writes: “It was in my single bed, at home — and was amazing!

“I’d waited a long time and I was doing it with the person I was in love with.
It just felt right. We ended up doing it quite a few times that night.

“We thought we were being really quiet, but my sister’s room was right below
mine and she came stomping up the stairs, shouting, ‘Will you two shut up!’
and ‘Don’t pretend you’re not doing anything!’

“I’d never been in a rush to have sex — maybe part of that was down to feeling
self-conscious about my body.

“I’ve never felt free enough to just meet a guy at a party and go and have sex
with him. Reece always made me feel good about my body, though.”

The couple continued their affair even after his daughter Olivia was born.
Claire explains: “I still feel the shame of it every day but I was only
20 and probably too young and selfish to appreciate the impact this could
have had.

“The guilt of what I was doing to another woman, even though they weren’t
happy, was killing me.

“I just loved him so much I couldn’t imagine how I could be without him. I
knew he was the one. I didn’t want to be without him because I’d never felt
that way about any man.

“I convinced myself that I was fine with the fact that he’d had a baby, but in
reality it felt constantly as though I’d had the wind sucked out of me. It
was the worst feeling in the world.”

Claire was relieved when they were caught out as they could finally be
together — but it cost Reece his job with the band.

And within months the relationship crumbled and Claire then fell for Steps
dancer Mark Webb while the band was on tour. She went on to wed him in
August 2003.

She explains of the breakdown of her relationship with Reece: “The guilt we
both felt ate away at us. We’d started to drift apart and eventually split.

“I knew Mark liked me and midway through the tour I caved in — we started
seeing each other.

“We just kind of fell into it. I got drunk one night and told him I loved him.

“It was the drink talking — I wish I’d never said it out loud because after
that I found myself in a proper relationship with him.

“Although I did care about him, right from the off there were signs that the
relationship probably wasn’t going to last. On my 23rd birthday, Mark had my
initial tattooed on his arm.

“Instead of thinking what a sweet gesture it was, I just thought, ‘What a
stupid thing to do!’ ” When he proposed on the Spanish Steps in Rome Claire
knew she didn’t want to marry him — but she still said yes.

She admits: “I didn’t enjoy myself on our wedding day at all.

“The following day, things only got worse and Mark and I ended up having a bit
of a row in front of everyone over what we were going to do with a massive
bunch of white roses he’d bought me.

“The relationship broke down from there, we started living separate lives.”

Claire cheated on him with Dane Bowers from boyband Another Level after a
wedding. Bandmate Lee Latchford-Evans had already tipped her off that Dane
had once had a crush on her.

She writes: “Years before he’d told Lee that he fancied me, but nothing came
of it because he was dating Katie Price.

“At the end of the night I got a cab back to the hotel with Dane, and we both
said goodnight and went our separate ways. When I got back to my room I
wasn’t ready for the night to end, so I decided to knock on Dane’s door and
ask him if he could help me undo my dress! I fancied him a bit and I was up
for a flirt.

“We chatted for ages then he started kissing me and we ended up having a bit
of a fumble, although we didn’t have sex.

“I woke up in his bed fully clothed the next morning and had to do the walk of
shame.

“I didn’t want to leave his room wearing the same outfit I’d worn to the
wedding because I knew that would look bad, so I wrapped a big towel around
me, tucking my dress straps underneath to hide them, so it looked like I’d
just popped into his room to borrow something. I gave Dane a lift back to
London that day and as I dropped him off I said to him, ‘I’m married; I
can’t do this.’

“ ‘I think that’s a real shame,’ he replied. ‘We could have given it a go.’

“When I got home, Mark was there. I put what happened with Dane to the back of
my mind and tried again to make our marriage work — but it still wasn’t
right.”

Claire eventually fell into depression and she was prescribed medication. But
she only truly found happiness when she returned to the love of her life —
Reece.

She lured him to her home where she was living apart from Mark then made her
move, even though she was still wed to the dancer. She said: “We ended up
snogging on the doorstep for ages. ‘Would you like to stay?’ I whispered.

“He didn’t need asking twice. We slept together that night and it was amazing
— just like it had been five years before.”

Claire divorced Mark in 2005 after admitting adultery with Reece. She recalls:
“I was fine with saying I’d committed adultery because technically I had.”

She married Reece, 43, who is now an electrician, in 2008. They have two kids
— Charlie, four, and two-year-old Daisy.

She writes: “I got pregnant with Charlie after Ant (as in Ant and Dec) and
Lisa’s wedding. When we got home I said to Reece, ‘Right, let’s start trying
for a baby!’ That very night I got pregnant. I’ve since told Ant and Lisa
they were responsible!”
