Claire ‘sick of getting the blame’ for split
From Ananova:
Former Steps singer Claire Richards has broken her silence over the group’s split, saying she’s fed up with getting the blame. The singer says all the band members wanted to call it a day – not just her and H. She has now formed a duo with H and will release their debut single DJ on 6 May. Claire told the News Of The World: “It wasn’t mine or H’s fault. We all wanted to call it a day. Faye, Lisa and Lee all wanted to quit at different times. So it wasn’t just us. We just wanted to go out on top. I admit that H and I instigated the conversation about splitting up but we were all thinking about it and we just helped it along.”
H and Claire will be appearing at this year’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras at London’s Hackney Marshes on 6 July. Other acts confirmed for the Mardi Gras include Swedish pop outfit Alcazar.
