Pop band STEPS stars Claire & H, who have a new TV talent show for kids, (STEPS 2 The Stars. CBBC Starting February 2nd 2001) tell us how they are spending Christmas.
Where Will You Be?
Both: “We’re spending time at home relaxing.”
What would be your perfect Christmas?
H: “Our schedules have been so busy and we’ve only been getting about two days off a month, so it’ll be wonderful just to get time off.”
What are you hoping for from Santa?
Claire: “I’ve seen the Audrey Hepburn boxset in the shops which I’d love to get. I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She was pure class and beautiful.”
Do you look forward to your presents?
H: “Once you’ve opened them all its boring. It’s not like when you where a kind and you’d get toys – now there is nothing to play with!”
What’s your typical Christmas Day like?
H: “I’m really looking forward to being back home – but mum always burns the dinner.”
Claire: “We all open our presents and someone cooks dinner. This year it’s supposed to be me but I’m trying to get out of it!”
What’s your most memorable Christmas?
H: “It was last year when I bought my mum a hose for Christmas, back home in Wales. She was like “ooh!” It was great to be able to do that.”
What are you buying people this year?
H: “I don’t know yet. We’re going to be touring but we will get time off in the day so I’ll do all my shopping then.”
What do you like most about Christmas?
Claire: “Boxing Day – I get to have bubble and squeak which I prefer to Christmas Dinner.”
H: “Me too – that’s when all the best films are on. I’m movie mad – I love Witches by Roald Dahl, as it was one of my favourite books as a kid. I saw Anjelica Huston on Venice Beach and I was like “wow!”
