I always had a feeling that Steps would outsell Britney this week but I didn’t expect them to re-claim the UK #1 album! Very impressive if you ask me. Gold : Greatest Hits is at number one on the UK albums chart! Chain Reaction falls down to number 29 on the singles chart. See our charts pages for full chart information.

Album releases next week see the new Madonna GHV2 (Greatest Hits Volume 2) and that Westlife album. Interesting battle that, Madonna’s album has had the biggest Christmas pre-sales of 750,000 copies, be interesting if she, or Steps can hold of Westlife.
