ABBAMania is out today
Clearly the steppers are getting into the whole internet thing as they are chatting online a lot at the moment. No sooner had we asked all our questions and wished them all luck on the ToyZone chat, they go and announce they will be chit-chatting to fans as part of their US promotion for the Disney concert this week! On 15 November you can type away to your idols at www.disney.com – not bad eh?
Also announced today was the US release date for the album Step One. It will hit US shores on 8 February 2000, that’s two weeks later than expected. If you won’t be able to stand that extra fortnight of waiting, you can get your Steps fix on 4 January as the group will be going wild on the airways with the radio release of Tragedy.
In yet another Steps info release, it has been confirmed that the double A-side of Say You’ll Be Mine / Better The Devil You Know will be a two CD release! Things just keep getting better and better for Steps and their assault on the Christmas charts. The main rival at the moment is the BBC single It’s Only Rock And Roll featuring loads of artists including the Spice Girls. Westlife are not out of the picture yet but it is more likely the fab five will beat the mini Boyzones (don’t worry, we like Westlife too! Just not when they go up against our fave band).
The two CDs are set to be released on Monday 13 December in the UK. Thanks PJ 🙂
Out today is the fabulous compilation of ABBA covers by various top artists including your favourite group! In fact, as Steps are so popular they feature on the album twice! Well two and a bit times if you include the ABBA medley from the Brit awards! The songs Steps sing are the absolutely stunning I Know Him So Well, which was written for the musical Chess by the bearded duo Benny and Bjorn. Then there is also the more upbeat and steptastic Lay All Your Love On Me. I would say that the album is well worth the price as all the other artists featured were excellent and every ABBA song is just the best anyway, but if you are only buying it for the two STEPS songs it may seem a bit too expensive. I think it’s just the best thing since Steptacular! My only quibble is that Steps didn’t do Dancing Queen!
