Steps sold yet another 55,000 copies of Gold last week bringing their totals to around the 360,000 sold in just 4 weeks, not bad going really! :o)
Thanks to a few people who have e-mailed me about this, Amazon now have the Steps single listed – you can buy it now by clicking here – and as HMV the tracklisting is:

1. Words Are Not Enough
2. I Know Him So Well
3. Bittersweet

Again due on November 26th 2001 – so make that date in your dairies :o)

From Ananova:

Chart experts say they’re not surprised Britney Spears has been eclipsed by oldies Pink Floyd and Sting. Her new album only made it to number four in the new Official UK Album Chart. Steps top the chart with their greatest hits collection Gold.Pink Floyd’s Best of album Echoes is at number two, and Sting’s collection All This Time is at three. But Britney did beat off the challenge of Michael Jackson, who is at number five with Invincible. HMV’s Gennaro Castaldo said Britney had kept a relatively low profile in the UK for the album release. He said the Pink Floyd collection was seen by many as this year’s equivalent to The Beatles’ singles album last year. And Sting had been boosted by the publicity generated by flying on Concorde last week.

From Billboard Online:

Westlife, Steps Top U.K. Charts

Irish pop pin-up act Westlife achieved its ninth U.K. No. 1 yesterday (Nov. 11) as “Queen Of My Heart” (RCA) replaced Afroman’s “Because I Got High” (Universal Island) at the top of the region’s singles chart. It’s the lead song from the quintet’s third album “World Of Our Own,” which is released today. Those nine chart-toppers have been achieved in just two-and-a-half years, since “Swear It Again” opened the group’s account in May 1999. Meanwhile another pop five-piece, Steps, returned to No. 1 on the U.K. album chart with the Ebul/Jive set “Gold – The Greatest Hits,” despite powerful competition from no fewer than four new entries. Pink Floyd’s EMI/Chrysalis compilation “Echoes” was the highest of those at No. 2, followed by Sting’s live A&M set “All This Time” at No. 3, Britney Spears’ “Britney” (Jive) at No. 4 and the Corrs’ “The Best Of” (Atlantic) at No. 6. Last week’s No. 1, Michael Jackson’s “Invincible” (Epic), fell to No. 5.

Also A LOT of people have e-mailed me etc. about the airplane crash in the US … Unlike last time there isn’t anything that shows that is was a terrorist attack, yes people say there was an explosion, but anything could have really caused that. Of course again its a sad loss of lives and a real shame to hit New York 2 months after the WTC attacks, but this could just be an engine failure and we’ve not reported on aircrafts crashing due to engine failures in the past …

If you want more information check out etc.

Also those of you expecting videos tonight, read this from my ever so useless ISP:

“Customers may be experiencing slow speeds and packet loss across the blueyonder network. This will be most apparent at times of high demand and the impact will vary dependant on location, however all areas will suffer to a greater or lesser degree. It is safe to say that latency and packet loss are still common and Gaming is still suffering more than most. The source of the problem is the PVC links on the BPX network.

We have made many changes but the problems at Telehouse have totally overshadowed our efforts. However we are carrying out a schedule of works to improve and resolve these problems but in the short term we continue to go through a period of poor performance. This will continue until we complete the bandwidth upgrades on or around 23/11. ”

As you probably noticed, they state the 23rd November for a fix?!? Great ISP aren’t they?! …. grr. I’m uploading at 1.5kb/s now so perhaps tomorrow I’ll get at least 7-8kbps and I’ll upload for you.
